Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her most famous roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. After her parents' divorce her parents separated, she moved to Worthington, Ohio to live at Los Angeles. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first role as Rachel's Room's main character the web-based video series Rachel's Room in 2001. Following her win of an Young Artist Award in 2002 for her performance of Murder in Greenwich of a 15-year old Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace was able to take home the award. In 2004, Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost on which she was the main character for the initial two seasons, and was awarded an award called the Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the ensemble cast. Grace wanted to focus on film after playing opposite Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. She starred in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 as well as Taken (2008) opposite Liam Neeson. In 2008, she played the same role in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both in 2012). Grace reprised the role as Shannon in two episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. In 2013, she appeared in Season 6 of Californication. She portrays Faith as a groupie and also a model for actors. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal family and is the younger sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens she appeared in small roles in the films of her father and she co-starred alongside her brother in Donnie Darko, a popular cult movie. The year 2002 saw her was featured as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's leading roles in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, and Sherrybaby (a drama) have earned her nominations to the Golden Globe Award. After a string of commercially successful films, including World Trade Center in 2006 her name was recognized more widely in the role of Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). In the wake of her performance that was a hit as a mother who is not married of Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she appeared in comedy and dramas Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (2012). Her other roles includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) and musicians in Frank (2014 Drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as The kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal's debut as a director and writer was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psychological thriller in which she won the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
